On 27th of June, SAFE hosted in Brussels its Annual General Assembly of 2024. It was an opportunity for SAFE’s members to meet in person, share information, update each other on their various projects and discuss potential future collaborations.
SAFE presented its annual activities, in particular the campaign on acrylamide, and its ongoing projects, presented by the projects’ officers.
The members who travelled to Brussels for the occasion presented different insightful topics related to their fields of expertise.
Monica Calu, president of Consumers United of Romania delved into the Food4Inclusion project and how they address youth poverty, exclusion, and health in Romania.
Emanuel Mian, president of EMOTIFOOD, talked about innovations in psycho-nutrition with the Emotifood methodology for obesity prevention and information.
Chiara Manzi, president of the Associazione per la Sicurezza Nutrizionale in Cucina presented the campaign of SAFE on acrylamide and how to reduce its formation in food. Chiara Manzi is involved in the campaign on acrylamide, that will also involve other members.
Viktor Vodička from Czech Consumer Association introduced the online platform they created for the Healthy Meal Project to make it easier to join the project.
Finally, Anastasia Chatzipavlou, from the Union for Working Consumers of Greece (EEKE) explained the issue of inflationary prices in Greece and the consumers’ response.
