Financial Support

SAFE – Safe Food advocacy Europe is a non-profit independent consumer organisation registered as an ASBL under Belgian law. To carry on its various projects and activities, SAFE is gratefully supported by its members through an annual membership fee and by the following public fundings:

LIFE Programme

SAFE’s Food & Environment project is currently being financed by the European Commission through the LIFE NGO programme (2020-2021).


SAFE coordinates two Erasmus + projects (Strategic Partnerships – KA2) : the TAO project (2018-2021) and the PermaModule project (2019-2022). Additionally, SAFE is a partner in the RegAgri4Europe project (2020-2022) coordinated by CEFE International.

Université Catholique de Louvain

In 2018, SAFE was commissioned by the Catholic University of Louvain to draft the policy proposals presented during the EU Food and Farming Forum organized by the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems (IPES-Food).

Fondazione Cariplo

The Italian Foundation Cariplo is financially supporting SAFE to organize school trainings on Sugar and Food additives consumption in Milan.

Bruxelles Environnement

The Brussels Institute for Environment Management supported SAFE’s projects tackle Food Waste (2019-2020) and to improve Food Packaging reduction (2019-2020).

Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles

The Ministry of Education of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels (in French-speaking Belgium) has financed SAFE to organise school nutrition trainings on Sugar and Food additives consumption for children.

NATO Charity Bazaar

The NATO Charity Bazaar supports SAFE in its Food Waste project in Brussels.
