CEIP giving Food4Inclusion training in Croatia

14 April 2026

CEIP, a member of SAFE, carried out an educational workshop on the health risks of excessive sugar consumption as part of SAFE’s Food4Inclusion project. Led by Tanja Popović Filipović, the training drew the attention of Škole.hr, a Croatian portal that provides the latest information on education, learning and teaching.

The workshop took place on the occasion of World Health Day on 7 April at Vukovar Gymnasium, a member of the Schools for Health in Europe (SHE) network. The SHE network promotes healthy lifestyles and  supports projects and workshops that raise awareness of good nutrition to protect the health of students and employees.

The training explained to students the difference between natural and added sugars, highlighted the health risks linked to high sugar intake, and drew attention to the harmful effects of artificial food colourings usually found in processed foods.

Through interactive activities and quizzes, students were encouraged to take an active role and gained practical skills, such as reading food labels and understanding nutritional information on packaging. This gave them critical thinking skills and knowledge that they can use in everyday life.

Overall, the workshop aimed to raise awareness of healthy eating habits and empower young adults  to make more responsible food choices for a healthier future.
