Marko Perišić

Marko holds a PhD in Environmental Law from Hasselt University (Belgium), with a research focus on soil law and environmental governance. During his doctoral studies, he contributed to EU-funded research under the Horizon 2020 framework, within the Phy2Climate project.

He is a Guest Research Fellow at Hasselt University, affiliated with the Centre for Government and Law and the Centre for Environmental Sciences (CMK). Additionally, he is involved in international expert networks as a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, contributing to the Specialist Group on Soil and Sustainable Agriculture Law.

Marko holds a Master’s Degree with Honours in Diplomacy and International Cooperation from the University of Trieste, with a specialisation in environmental and water-related issues. Before moving to Italy and then to Brussels, he obtained his law degree in Belgrade, where he gained professional experience as a legal assistant. He also worked at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Denmark.
