Floriana Cimmarusti

Born in Bari, Italy, Floriana Cimmarusti is an international lawyer with more than twenty-five years of experience, who has worked in Italy, Switzerland, and Belgium.

She holds two master’s degrees: one in European Union Law, Economics and Policy, from the European College of Parma (Italy) and an LLM in Business Law from the University of Geneva (Switzerland). Next to her Law degree, she passed the Italian exam to become lawyer.

She started her career working for an EU law firm in Brussels. She went on to work for other organisations, where she gained extensive experience as a lobbyist, acting as a director in a European banking and financial sector organisation, before moving to Switzerland, to work for an international company in Geneva and as legal counsel for a bank in Lausanne.

She is a member of the Management Board of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), representing European consumers.
