New EFSA opinion on welfare hazards in pig slaughters

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a scientific opinion on 17 June in the context of a series of updated assessments on animal welfare at slaughter requested by the European Commission. In light of the recently published Farm to Fork Strategy, EFSA proposed measures to address the welfare hazards most commonly associated with the slaughter of pigs for food production.
