SAFE aims to generate a positive impact on European citizens, especially on disadvantaged people, by fighting poverty and addressing its consequences, like poor nutrition and unhealthy diets. As a part of the Food4Inclusion programme, SAFE encourages the inclusion of marginalised groups through food, paying especial attention to children. We conduct food literacy training sessions in schools for at-risk children, where they learn how to identify unhealthy food products and reduce their intake of sugar, fats, and salt.

As a part of its advocacy work, SAFE promotes legislative changes leading to more inclusive food systems across Europe, including equal access to food and essential resources for the disadvantaged and policies to support European citizens’ purchasing power.
