German Scientific Advisory Board recommands using climate labels

The German Scientific Advisory Board on Agricultural Policy, Food and Consumer Health Protection(WBAE) has urged the government to introduce mandatory climate labels on food products. Such labels would display the GHG emissions of these products.

These recommandations also include an excise tax on sugar-sweetened products, restrictions on adverts for unhealthy food targeting children, and the promotion of more sustainable farming systems.
