CSOs send Joint Letter to EU leaders calling for better alignment between the CAP and the EU Green Deal

This Thursday 1st October, SAFE and more than 250 Civil Society Organisations sent a joint Open letter to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the Presidency of the Council of the European Union Angela Merkel, and the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament chaired by David Sassoli, calling for full alignment of the reformed Common Agricultural Policy with the European Green Deal.

CSOs express their deep concern regarding the current failure of the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to reflect the priorities of the European Green Deal. The new CAP mus tbecome a powerful policy transformation tool to initiate the urgently needed transition towards sustainable and socially just food systems.
