Joint statement: Call on the European Commission to mandate Extended Producer Responsibility for Food Products

SAFE with a coalition of businesses, cities, waste managers and other civil society organisations signed a joint statement to call on the European Commission to introduce an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for food products. We propose that food producers co‑finance food waste prevention and collection to meet EU targets, ease public budgets, foster a circular bioeconomy, and reduce environmental impacts.
