Europe’s labels, too ambiguous or misleading, European Court of Auditors and SAFE find
27 November 2024
The European Court of Auditors (ECA) and SAFE have both highlighted the need for greater transparency in food labelling to help consumers make informed choices. SAFE’s report, based on a survey of 5,000 people from five European countries, reveals that 67% of consumers believe companies do not provide all necessary information on labels. The report also points out that many products marketed as “natural” lack substantiation for such claims.
