Floriana is an international lawyer with more than fifteen years of working experience gained in Italy, Belgium and Switzerland. She was born in Bari, Italy, where she studied law, concluding with an Erasmus program in international law in Salamanca, Spain. Next to her law degree, she obtained a Master in Law, Economy and Politics of the European Union at the European College of Parma in Italy.
She gained experience in EU Law at the Tizzano law firm in Brussels. Furthermore, she worked in the International Departement of the National Council of Architects in Rome as legal Counsel expert in EU Affairs. Later she was a director of Cooperation Bancaire pour l’Europe, a GEIE based in Brussels.
For family reasons she moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where she attended a Master in Laws LLM at the University of Geneva. In Switzerland, she worked as legal Counsel in Lausanne at the Banque Cantonale de Vaud and in Cotecna, an international company based in Geneva.
Once back in Brussels, she worked again as a lobbyist at the European Fund Asset Management Association where she was Regulatory Policy Adviser. She also cooperated with BelgicaNNats, a non-profit organization in charge of protecting the rights of working children in developing countries.

Björn has 15+ years of experience in EU communications and event management. He’s from Germany and studied Political Science, International Cooperation and EU Public Policy in Aachen (Germany), Paris and London. Björn worked in the European Parliament, European Voice and 6 years for Eurochild, the European children’s rights network.
At SAFE he’s in charge of the website, the newsletter mailings and advising on the Communications strategy.
Antoine is Belgian and holds and Advanced Master in Interdisciplinary Analysis of European integration (Institute of European Studies, Belgium) and a Master in History (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium). Before joining SAFE, he worked as an archivist for a French Environmentalist Association and for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. He became a part of SAFE’s team in June 2018 and is Office and Communication Manager since January 2019.
At SAFE, Antoine is in charge of managing SAFE’s communication channels and campaigns. He also coordinates several EU projects, among which the Perma+ Module project.

After a year abroad in High School (in the US, 2013-2014), Chloé decided to pursue her studies towards an international perspective. She holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Law and English from the University of Tours (France) and is soon to be graduated from a Master’s degree in European and International Project Engineering.
She joined SAFE as an intern to develop her project management and advocacy skills, as well as to have more opportunity to give more visibility of EU actions to civil society. Over time, she grew more and more interested in nutrition, the environment and animal welfare and is now a vegetarian.

Elle is an Erasmus student from the UK, soon to complete the final year of her BA in Politics and French from the University of Nottingham. Her studies have allowed her to gain theoretical knowledge of Politics and International relations, specialising in Global Security and Policy, as well as a development of academic writing skills.
She joined SAFE in February to gain first-hand insight of the workings of the EU and in particular sustainable policy making, before taking her masters in public policy.

Federico is Italian and he completed a Bachelor in Agriculture and Economics (University of Bologna, Italy). He subsequently moved to the Netherlands to attend a Master in Food Safety Law (Wageningen University), where he combined life sciences notions together with regulatory and EU Affairs themes.
Federico joined SAFE for the first time in June 2019 as a EU Affairs intern and came back in May 2020 to help the team with lobbying and relevant matters.

João comes from the Azores and has got a great interest in farming and food waste policies. About to graduate from a master degree in International Relations by ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute, he joined SAFE in March 2020 to develop his advocacy skills in topics concerning ecological sustainable development. Moreover, he has participated in food waste and permaculture projects in countries such as South Africa, Zambia and the West Bank.
